Level 1 The Zoo Lesson 6

In this lesson, children learn about the letter b. The lesson focuses on the letter b’s sound, its shape and words that start with b.The different activities have children focus on these features using a variety of fun games. As with all Reading Eggs lessons, the lesson ends with a book which is read aloud.

Level 1 The Zoo Lesson 26

In this lesson, children make a word family of words that end with ad. Word families are a great way for children to build their phonics skills and to begin to understand how words work. By this lesson, children are reading books with simple sentences. At the end of the lesson, a very popular Reading Eggs character pops out of the egg.

Level 2 The Playground Lesson 3

After the first 40 lessons, students start Level 2 The Playground. Level 2 lessons cover: more phonic skills; a range of high frequency sight words such as has and said, and build increased reading fluency. In this lesson, children build the id word family and read and make sentences. The book, Sid the kid features some popular Reading Eggs characters in the playground.

In this Comprehension Gym lesson, students practise a variety of comprehension strategies before they read two pages from the chapter book – Mandy Made me Do It. The pre-reading activities develop vocabulary and comprehension strategies using memorable animations and interactivity. Each student then completes a 16 question quiz.

In this Comprehension Gym lesson, students are working with a nonfiction text – Biggest, Highest, Fastest. The pre-reading activities focus on developing vocabulary, finding the main idea, understanding point of view, and drawing conclusions from the text.

This is lesson 179 of 200 comprehension lessons. This lesson focuses on understanding how advertisements work. Students learn how authors use language to write for a particular audience and purpose. The pre-reading activities also develop a student’s inferential skills.
